Niagara-on-the-Lake Dental Donates 500 Surgical Masks to NOTL Fire Department

Dr. Rebecca Zabek-Clark and Dr. Kevin Clark of Niagara-on-the-Lake Dental donated 500 surgical masks to the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Fire & Emergency Services Department on Tuesday, April 6.

These masks are being deployed to NOTL Town firefighters to help bridge the gap in the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) following recent changes to minimum PPE requirements.

“Niagara-on-the-Lake Fire & Emergency Services continues to take every possible step to protect our frontline firefighters and, in turn, ensure they are able to continue to provide the exceptional service that our residents have come to expect. This generous donation from Niagara-on-the-Lake Dental comes at a critical time, and for that we are incredibly grateful,” said Fire Chief Nick Ruller.

“These recently announced changes will help to strengthen the supply of N95 masks that can now be redeployed to frontline workers involved advanced airway management procedures.”

The Fire & Emergency Services Department is in the process of procuring additional masks to ensure this requirement continues to be met.
